Atlas Home

Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 30, 2026  ·  Applies to the Atlas Home mobile app and its companion services

Overview

Atlas Home is a home-management app: it keeps track of your rooms, maintenance tasks, warranties, vendors, and the other everyday facts of running a house. This policy explains what information Atlas Home collects to do that, why, and what control you have over it.

This document describes Atlas Home as it is actually built today. If a feature changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above.

What we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your email address, password (stored securely and never visible to us in plain text), and optionally your name. Authentication is handled by Supabase, our backend provider.

Home data you enter

Everything you add to run your home: property details (name, address, type, year built, and the concerns you flag during setup), rooms, maintenance tasks, home specs, assets and their warranties, vendor contacts, calendar events, renovation projects, shopping lists, and emergency protocols. This is the core of what Atlas Home does. It only exists because you put it there.

Subscription status

If you subscribe to Atlas Pro, we store whether your subscription is active, which plan it is, and when a trial ends. In the mobile app, your payment card is handled entirely by Apple or Google. If you subscribed through our website instead, it's handled by Stripe. Atlas Home never sees or stores your card details either way.

Account emails

We use Resend to send the transactional emails your account needs: confirming a new signup and password-reset links. These go only to the email address on your own account.

Usage analytics

We use PostHog to understand how the app gets used, specific actions like starting a trial, subscribing, or sending a message to the Assistant, along with which screens you visit, so we know where to focus improvements. Tracking stays limited to these named events, not a recording of everything you tap or do. This is linked to your account (your user ID and email address), not anonymous, so we can tell how usage differs between people rather than only in aggregate.

Crash and error reports

We use Sentry to know when the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, so we can fix it. A crash report is linked to your account (your user ID and email address) so we can investigate a specific report if needed, and may include technical details like what screen you were on and the error's stack trace. We do not enable Sentry's session replay or IP/device fingerprinting features.

What we don't collect

Being specific about this is as important as listing what we do collect:

AI features

Atlas Home uses Anthropic's Claude model for one feature: the Atlas Assistant, the in-app chat that answers questions about your home. It runs only when you send it a message.

Worth knowing

When you ask the Assistant a question, the details on file for your home, specs, assets, warranties, vendors, your calendar, and emergency contact information, are sent to Claude so the answer can be specific to your house, not just the words you typed. Nothing is sent unless you ask the Assistant something, and the request is made from our server so that no AI provider key is ever stored in the app.

Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, content sent this way is processed to return a response and is not used to train their models by default.

Sharing your home

Atlas Home lets you invite other people to share access to a home you own: for a family member, a property manager, or anyone else who needs to see and edit the same tasks, rooms, and records. If you accept an invite to a shared home, the owner and every other member of that home can see the data you add to it, and you can see theirs. Removing someone from a home revokes their access immediately.

How we use it

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your home data for advertising.

Who we share it with

Atlas Home is built on a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf, under their own security and privacy commitments:

ProviderWhat they handle
SupabaseAccount authentication and all home data storage.
Anthropic (Claude)Atlas Assistant answers, as described above.
RevenueCat, Apple, and GoogleSubscription purchases and billing in the mobile app. Atlas Home does not see or store your payment card details. That's handled entirely by Apple's or Google's billing systems.
StripeSubscription purchases and billing if you subscribe through our website instead of the mobile app. Same as above, Atlas Home never sees or stores your card details.
ResendDelivering account emails (signup confirmation, password reset), as described above.
PostHogScreen-navigation usage analytics, as described above.
SentryCrash and error reporting, as described above.

Beyond these providers and the people you've explicitly invited to a shared home, we don't share your data with anyone else: no data brokers, no ad networks.

Storage & security

Your data is stored in Supabase's managed Postgres infrastructure, hosted in the United States, with row-level security rules that scope every record to your account (or the accounts of people you've explicitly invited to a shared home). We use industry-standard encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we design access controls so that, by default, only you (and anyone you've chosen to share with) can read or write your home's data.

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. Deleting your account removes it, as described below.

Your choices

Children

Atlas Home is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we make a meaningful change to how Atlas Home handles your data, we'll update the effective date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
